Alex (Alexandria) Hartshorn BFA, MA (intern)

Alex is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and is very excited to work with clients! Alex practices from a humanistic perspective and considers the intuitive and self-healing capabilities of each individual. She strives to honour and explore differences, and extend compassion and respect to all. Considering the various intersections of identities that comprise us, Alex endeavours to create a safe space where all experiences will be valued and held with positive regard and empathy. Alex has a special interest in using creative and experiential techniques such as metaphor, imagery and storytelling to expand perspectives. She uses this approach to support clients with symptoms of anxiety, depression, goal setting, feelings of 'being stuck', motivation, and emotion regulation struggles. She also has experience leading body-based and movement workshops for kids, adults, and seniors.

Alex is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
